Claire Mayes: Studio Owner

Claire teaches aerial silks, aerial hoop, pole, choreography, conditioning, flexibility and kids circus classes.

Claire loves to dance and studied ballet, tap and modern dance from a young age. Make sure your toes are pointed in her classes!

Claire believes you can achieve anything if you work hard and won't let you say 'I can't do it' in any of her classes!

Laura Metson: Studio Manager

Laura teaches pole, hammocks, static trapeze, silks, aerial hoop, flexibility, balance and kids circus classes. Laura’s style is strong and fierce. She loves flips and dynamic power moves.

Laura has a great sense of humour and her classes are incredibly fun. Laura says pole has helped her gain so much in confidence, strength, musicality and flexibility.


Lorna Woods

Lorna teaches aerial hoop, aerial yoga, hammocks, silks and kid’s circus.

Lorna has been in the fitness industry for years and she loves the strength and conditioning side of aerial arts and enjoys helping others reach their fitness goals. Training at the studio has helped Lorna overcome her fear of heights that she harboured all the way into her thirties!


Jess Simpson-Titchmarsh

Jess Simpson-Titchmarsh

Jess teaches pole, aerial hoop and flexibility. She started Pole Fitness is 2012, and loves how strong she has become.

Jess enjoys moves that incorporate strength and flexibility. She has a natural grace and flow to her movement and loves to choreograph classique style routines.

Jess is a really encouraging instructor and makes all her students feel at ease.


Sian Ivory

Sian teaches pole. Sian has a natural flow on the pole and loves incorporating routines into her classes. Any excuse for a booty shake in her sparkly heels!

Sian is encouraging and supportive, she loves it when she sees people achieve moves especially when it may have taken a while to achieve.


Rosie Aldridge

Rosie Aldridge

Rosie teaches silks, trapeze, aerial hoop, pole and kid’s circus.

Rosie has no previous background in gymnastics or dance and has found her strength and improved flexibility through classes at the studio. She now loves making pretty bendy shapes up in the air! Rosie loves to teach and enjoys helping others reach their goals no matter how long it takes.


Helen Carter

Helen teaches aerial hammock and aerial hoop classes as well as supporting children’s parties.

Helen had her first aerial experience on a hoop at the studio in 2016 and was hooked. She loves helping students at all levels achieve their goals and have fun doing it!

Helen calls herself ‘The Aerial Grandma’ as she took up aerial a little later than most and does actually have 3 grandchildren.

Katie teaches our dance class and kid’s aerial, she has been dancing for 16 years and has a BA honours degree in dance studies.

She has been teaching dance classes focusing on commercial and contemporary dance at the studio for over 2 years now and loves every second of it!

She loves that in a dance class you don't realise that you are actually working out! You just are enjoying yourself shaking what your mama gave ya!


Rebecca Butcher

Rebecca Butcher

Rebecca joined Studio Fly in 2015 and started with silks. She now trains in all the aerial disciplines. She has been practicing yoga since she was 12 and was excited when the opportunity arose to become an aerial yoga instructor.

Her classes are calming and really accessible, as it’s important to rest our bodies and minds as well as having fun and getting strong and flexible!

Rebecca has empathy with beginners who say they aren’t confident, strong enough or bendy enough - when she started, she couldn’t lift herself off the ground for months!


Zoe Morey

Zoe Morey

Zoe is a Dance Artist who has experience teaching, choreographing, and performing in a variety of dance styles. She found a new passion in aerial fitness and was addicted from the beginning.

She is used to pushing boundaries and loves seeing how her body can move in new diverse ways through dance. Aerial has connected her to her body on a deeper level and continues to challenge her practice.

Zoe teaches static trapeze, hoop, pole, silks, hammocks, and children's aerial. She can’t wait to share her love of dance, aerial, and fitness helping everyone get super strong and flying!

Lucy teaches pole. She grew up singing and dancing and has always been a fitness fanatic.

Lucy loves how pole has improved her upper body strength and core and enjoys doing and teaching pole flows.

Lucy pushes her students and shows them they can do anything if they put their mind to it.

Tricia Tharby

Tricia teaches our BootyBarre, adult pole and kids circus classes.

Coming from a dance and performance background Tricia joined the Studio in 2019 and instantly fell in love with aerial.

She is a great believer in loving what you do and doing what you love and teaching has provided her the opportunity to do exactly that.

Tricia helps others build confidence. She says ‘‘Our strength doesn’t come from what we do. It comes from doing what we thought we couldn’t’’.


Holly England

Holly teaches pole and Booty Flex supporting class, which is no surprise as her favourite style of pole is all about flexibility - she absolutely can’t resist a super bendy move!

With over 15 years background in belly dancing, she’s been able to transfer these skills to aerial. You will often find Holly slinking around the pole in her favourite heels.

Holly feels that aerial pole has completely transformed the way she feels about herself and her body - ‘‘The confidence it has given me is unreal’’ and this is why she loves to teach as she strives to empower others on their journey to love themselves more.


Marlena Mandat

Marlena started teaching our Kids Circus classes and then progressed to teaching adult aerial hoop, trapeze, and hammocks.

You can always notice her photoshoot pictures as her signature look is vibrantly overloaded with colours.

Marlena started her instructor training after two years attending aerial classes. She loves teaching and seeing her students also progress while genuinely enjoying themselves. When her students grow confidence, this encourages her to keep doing what she does.


Hannah Smith

Hannah teaches pole and aerial hoop. She is also a qualified hula hoop instructor.

Hannah started pole with studio owner Claire in 2011, before Studio Fly was even a thing. After one session she was hooked and couldn’t believe how great a workout it was. Over 10 years later she’s still flying high!

Hannah is all about those strength moves and loves how strong her body has become thanks to aerial fitness. Her classes are fun, warm, and inviting and she likes everyone to come away from a class feeling like they have accomplished something.


Jessica McLeod

Jess teaches hoop, kid’s circus, and is currently training to teach more aerial classes.

Jess has been a gymnast since very young and fell in love with aerial straight away. She’s enthusiastic about any move that involves a split, scary drop, rolls and anything dynamic.

She believes that aerial has been her life saver and has helped her in more ways than she can explain. She loves being able to share that gift and pass on the skills through teaching.


Hannah Softley

Hannah is qualified in trapeze and hoop and teaches our kids circus classes too.

She started aerial in 2020 and fell in love with hoop instantly and soon progressed with pole and trapeze.

Hannah finds practicing aerial in the studio her safe space and her meditation. She is proud to say that aerial fitness has rocketed her body confidence and her physical and mental strength. She adores sharing her passion by guiding and teaching others.


Diana Dowden

Diana teaches pole and occasionally our supporting balance & flexibility classes. If you know Diana, you know she loves a handstand!

After her children left home, Diana found herself free to explore ‘me’ time. She fell in love with pole and thinks that Studio Fly offers a fun, safe space with plenty of laughter. It’s a place where she gained confidence and strength in her body and in what she can achieve.

Diana has taught within the sport industry all her life and enjoys sharing her love for pole with others. She enjoys seeing people reach their goals. Her motto is “I’m encouraging and supportive, there is always a way.”


Adrian Relph

Adrian is an assistant for our Kid’s Circus classes and is training to expand his teaching role at the studio.

With a background in the arts and working with children (including those with additional needs), Adrian is also a children’s entertainer and professional Santa. He’s currently completing an Exercise to Music qualification and if he is available, loves to assist on our Kids Parties too.


Darren Black

Darren teaches Keoga at the Studio.

He was a successful competitive martial artist, and a British National champion, before he had to hang up his black belt due to a recurring knee injury. Although he was able to continue to work as a fitness professional, Darren also turned to yoga to help his knee, and eventually qualified as a yoga instructor.

It occurred to him that he could use his knowledge and experience to develop his own, unique wellness programme to help others, and Keogafit was born. Darren is living proof of the benefits of Keogafit. He’s fitter and stronger than ever in both body and mind.


Ceylan Clark

Ceylan started going to aerial classes at Studio Fly after having her second baby. She was nervous and did not know what to expect but quickly fell in love with pole and the studio.

Having been with the studio for over 4 years and gaining confidence in most of the equipment, her intrigue for teaching has now led her to be an assistant instructor for our Kids Circus Classes. Ceylan loves every second of it!
